The lab is excited to welcome Jocelyn Valenzuela as a new member of the lab! She joins us for her PhD dissertation research in Chemical Engineering.

Before coming to Stanford for her PhD, Jocelyn was an undergraduate researcher at San Jose State University. In the Wolcott Lab, her work involved modifying nanodiamond surfaces for use in earlier cancer detection. She later joined the Kao Lab, where she worked on engineering TiO2-binding E. coli for lithium ion battery production. Now, her interests lie in using protein engineering to develop targeted cancer therapies.
