Dhanashree Selvan Joins the Lab!

The lab is ecstatic to welcome Dhanashree Selvan as a new scientist!

Dhanashree obtained her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi in 2022 on ‘rational and de novo design of proteins and peptides to build artificial metalloenzymes’. She later joined Stanford's Innovative Medicines Accelerator and the Sarafan ChEM-H institute as a Research Scientist in protein engineering.

Over the past four years, she has gained extensive experience in the directed evolution of antibodies using phage display. She has led multiple campaigns for drug discovery and is an inventor of a patent-pending light chain-based naïve nanobody library.

She is passionate about tinkering with the protein structures and is eager to learn and apply computational protein design approaches. In the Cochran Lab, she plans to gain experience with yeast display, another key directed evolution platform, and to apply this expertise to the development of novel antibody therapeutics.
